I don't enjoy this topic but I do research it now and then to update my model of what is going on. My sense for a number of years has been that drones+AI arms race will be one of the main drivers of a changing geopolitical landscape. The first thing that alerted me of this was seeing a picture from a Mexican Cartel's confiscated weapons that included a comercial drone attached to a C4 explosive. I immediately realized such cheap weapons + AI are massively OP. Basically, the level of drone warfare going on right now in Ukraine is really intense and much further along than I expected. This Chinese soldier fighting for Russia describes in detail what it is like to work at an army dealing with never ending killer drones just thrown at you 24/7. I don't think there is even a movie that touches on this. I can't imagine there isn't a sort of Manhattan Project of AI Drones going on in many countries at the moment.
