ok, frieren is actually really good. i couldn't believe my eyes when it was ranked #1 on MAL with the highest score i have ever laid eyes on, the equivalent of being christened by the entire weeb community at once. "it must be overrated" i muttered to myself. no. i was a fool. i'm eating my words now. i'm only 2 ep in and i cried both episodes. it's one of the best anime i've ever seen. it's like if you took studio ghibli and made it more casual, it's dreamlike, poignant, charming to the highest degree. all the characters are unrealistically chill but this is on purpose because it maintains the flow state the show puts you in. it's a heartwarming exploration of human nature, and enjoyable for all ages. please go watch and enjoy it
